I’m writing this 12 minutes after the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 4 finale and I don’t really know if I can form a coherent sentence.
I had tried to stay away from spoilers the past two weeks to prevent me from seeing the big reveal, which I knew would involve Monica and an Instagram account. I wanted to be shocked, I didn’t want to know the ins and outs of everything.
I thought there was a possibility that everyone was overhyping the finale; from the Bravo social accounts to Andy Cohen himself, everyone was saying it was must see television.
I was not expecting that.
Spoiler alert!!!!
Monica (and a few others whom we do not know) were behind a RHOSLC troll account called Reality Von Tease. It seems like your typical troll account but it was also responsible for all those videos and audio recordings of Jen Shah.
Do you remember before she got arrested and recordings were released of Jen throwing something at a designer? Or yelling at a hair dresser? That was Monica…
When they revealed that, that not only was Monica behind the account but it was the account that was the one behind exposing Jen Shah, that’s when I knew we were cooking with gas.
The way Heather executed the fall out and reveal will be studied for years to come. It was perfect. The receipts, bringing the core 4 OGS down to the beach to reveal that their new friend was actually their biggest enemy… I was screaming at my television.
When Heather, our most trustworthy narrator calmly sat down at dinner and started with a light game about dark secrets, I was enthralled. The woman knows how to tell a story…no wonder she’s a New York Times Best Selling author. I want Heather Gay to write the next ‘Gone Girl’!
What unfolded over the next 15 minutes was Emmy worthy. Vanderpump better watch out because I think Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is coming for their crown.
The yelling, the back and forth, the slow reveals, the way Monica fessed up to everything…it was theater.
One of the most shocking revelations about Monica was that she was with Jen Shah in Meredith’s store when the purse was stolen!!! And it was on the security camera!! There were other little things the women threw back in Monica’s face from over the years and my jaw was dropped the entire time.
Monica dragged Angie K into it at one point and tried to make it seem liek she was involved in the account, but it looks like Angie only interacted with the account a few times by liking DMs and Instagram Stories.
We also get what we’ve been wanting for over a year… the reveal of Heather’s black eye. As many assumed, Jen Shah gave her the black eye and she was protecting the convicted felon.
I’m going to make an assumption but from what Heather said while in the throws of her confession it seems like the women were scared of Jen Shah because they thought she was the one who was behind an account of some sort, or was afraid she would retaliate in a similar way. The OGs were on pins & needles for years, under the thumb of someone they were scared of but it turned out to be someone else…
That’s wild.
I don’t understand how Monica thought she could bully these women for four years and then go on their show and become their friend. It’s psychotic behavior; it’s out of the realm of anything I ever thought we’d see on reality TV.
People are already defending Monica but I will not be that person. You have to be a special type of crazy to do what she did with a straight face, and double down on it. She’s going to turn the tables and make it seem like she was Robin Hood, protecting innocent people from Jen Shah’s wrath, and while that may be true, it’s most likely not the whole story.
The fact that she did a reveal photoshoot and is relishing in the attention, trying to defend herself is so odd. I can’t imagine that her children are very excited about it; I think if that was my mom, I’d be mortified.
Gibson said it best… it’s so iconic to go from burner account to Housewife.
However, I think it’s a super shitty and crazy thing to do. I feel for the women because they felt attacked by this account for so long; I can’t imagine that type of betrayal.
I don’t think I have anything more to say right now but I’m sure I’ll be back with more thoughts.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has delivered so many iconic, incredible, jaw dropping moments over the course of four seasons and it came to a head tonight with one of the most intense reality TV moments ever.
