Well, it’s another insane Sunday night episode of Love Island USA. We knew that America was going to vote for their favorite people and that the Islanders would finish the job. I voted for Cierra and Nic as my favorites because they are a breath of fresh air and I was happy to see that a lot of America agreed with me.
When I saw the bottom three I was surprised to see Hannah, but not really shocked at anyone else. America got it right…for once.
Then, the Islanders went and pissed me all the way off.
I know that they did what they did because of jealousy and because they had to take out the A+ players but it felt so personal and so mean. It felt riddled with jealously and wanting to eliminate people who could win the whole thing.
First, you have the girls — Hannah, Amaya and Iris. The obvious choice was Amaya and Iris. Iris is weird and doesn’t have a strong connection with any of the girls. Amaya is a sweetie but she is not going to find a man in here. Austin can’t stand her and she doesn’t feel built for this environment.
Hannah on the other hand is perfect for the villa. She already had a strong connection with Charlie and then found another with Pepe, she had the ability to take this whole thing home and that is exactly why they voted her out.
I know that it was necessary if any of the girls wanted to win, but that’s what makes it feel so icky. This is why last season was so incredible, because everyone found real connections but they also found real friendships.
There is no way this cast is getting a Beyond the Villa spinoff. They are seething with jealously and it’s never been more obvious.
Then, we move onto the boys. Once again, a very easy choice — Austin, Pepe or Jeremiah. Jeremiah has clearly had his issues and the way he handled the Huda situation was less than lovely but he was on his way to build another strong connection.
Austin and Pepe should’ve been taken out — Pepe because he is the newest (aside from TJ) and Austin because if I have to listen to him speak another sentence I might throw a tantrum. I knew the moment Nic started to speak that Jeremiah was going home and I knew we had Ace to blame.
I want someone to explain to me the power that Ace has over this house because it’s getting very frustrating. He hated Jeremiah so much, from the minute he walked in the house, because he felt that he jumped in with Huda too fast, and now that he ended it with Huda he was still trying to find a reason to dislike Jeremiah. It doesn’t make any sense.
I stopped liking Ace the minute he chose Amaya and then turned on her. It was disgusting and I won’t forgive him for that. He should’ve chose Chelley in the first place but he wanted to make for ‘good TV’, he wanted to prolong their storyline and he succeeded.
I’m not looking forward to how gleeful Ace will look in the coming episodes and I hope everyone turns on him soon because he is playing in their faces. Also, anyone who voted for Ace as their favorite, let’s have a word, shall we?
There is no reason that Jeremiah and Hannah had to go home tonight. Yes, they were strong game players and had the chance to win it all but they were also two of the more entertaining people on the cast. Now, we’re left with boring couples with weak connections and friendships that feel forced and fake.
They were the only two people who had a semi strong connection or at least the ability to put themselves out there.
The Islanders should not have any voting rights moving forward because they keep getting it wrong. None of them want to commit to having a strong relationship or friendship. They are all about strategy, they are all about the game. They don’t care about making real connections, finding love or even forming authentic friendships.
Whoever was cast this season was going to have big shoes to fill but this crew is going about the wrong way. Their focuses are in the wrong place and it’s starting to turn the audience against them.
