This post is coming super late (3 PM on a Sunday) because I had a wedding in Manhattan last night and didn’t wake up until 11:45 AM this morning. I spent most of the day so far cleaning and straightening up my home so I could relax for the rest of the day with TV and multiple pumpkin candles burning.
I have a slight case of the Sunday Scaries because I have a last minute conference on Tuesday which is throwing a wrench in my routine, which always causes anxiety and something to be discussed in therapy tomorrow.
For now, let’s get into the report!
READING
I finished reading
Spells, Strings and Forgotten Things, and while I grew to love the book after a chapter or two, the ending ripped my heart out. I was stunned silent and was sobbing on my couch for a while after reading. Even thinking about it makes my hear twinge. It was a fantastic book, albeit a bit confusing to follow at first because there were so many characters and magical language but even if I missed some things, I understood what was happening and I felt so connected to the characters, the romance, and everything in between. I need a sequel ASAP.EATING
This was not an exciting week for food but I did treat myself to Wendy’s chicken nuggets during my day off on Friday and God, they were delicious.
PLAYING
I am so deeply late to the game but I’d never seen Death Becomes Her and it’s finally on Netflix so I watched it on Friday night…what a movie! It’s so camp, so gory, hilarious and an excellent lesson that stands the test of time — youth is not everything.
OBESSING
I simply cannot get enough of the Father Figure edits on TikTok. It’s become my favorite song on The Life of a Showgirl, and the edits are getting so creative. From Succession to One Tree Hill and Harry Potter, all the edits are playing on loop inside my brain 24/7.
RECOMMENDING & TREATING
I’m cheating and combining the recommendation & treat this week because the product is that good. I’ve been wanting to try the Victoria Beckham concealer since it was released and have never been able to justify pressing the ‘place order’ button on Nordstrom.
However, on our lunch break this week, my friend & I decided to go across the street to Bergdorf Goodman and even though we work for a makeup company, decided to spend the non-gratis money on the concealer because it just looked that good.
I used it on Friday morning and was actually stunned. I love my Cle de Peau concealer (another expensive one) but this was outstanding. My dark circles were gone and my eyes looked hydrated and radiant. I can feel myself slipping into the Victoria Beckham Beauty vortex because the products are truly that incredible.
Have a lovely week!
