Weekly REPORT #81
This was an exciting week, mostly due to The Met Gala. Monday and Tuesday were so fun on social media, and even at work. I had the best time at work, planning posts and answering comments, just being in the mix.
However, the latter half of the week plummeted my mood because I felt physically ill and mentally drained, but the weekend kind of brought me back to life. Just in time for Monday to roll back around.
I would say most of my mental breakdowns were due writing my second draft of what I hope is my debut novel. I felt like a horrible writer and then started getting served ‘Things to Avoid in Your Writing’ videos on TikTok and it made me feel worse. I was so deeply in my head that I wanted to give it all up, but I think I’m through that for now.
I’m hoping this week is slightly better, but we will see.
READING
After over a month of reading Dolls of Our Lives, I gave up. I might do a review of it, well half a review, in an upcoming post but it was just really hard to follow and I wasn’t getting much of what I expected.
I’m 85% through The Last Page and while I like it, it’s a little too slow for my liking and I can of just want to be through it.
It’s also one of the first romances I’ve read since reading Heated Rivalry at the beginning of the year and everything just feels dull compared to Ilya and Shane.
EATING
This is always my least favorite part of the report because I don’t ever eat anything super exciting. I bought frozen garlic cubes last week and decided to slather them on chicken tenders before breading them, and it was a fantastic decision. They were more flavorful, crispy and delicious.
PLAYING
I went through the full Tortured Poet’s Department multiple times this week and it’s always like I’m listening to it for the first time. When I checked my Apple Music Replay for April, it was no surprise that TTPD was at the top, once again. Or that Taylor was the top artist, again.
OBSESSING
There is still a lot of Summer House drama/news going on and while I’m locked in, the thing I’ve been loving most this week is the budding re-friendship of Lindsay and Carl. While she’s been very critical of him in confessionals during the season, I’ve been hoping that in present time she’ll go a little softer easier on him.
We might’ve gotten our wish this week when there were clips of them at the Vulture Reality TV party, dancing together and posing for photos.
Then, on Saturday, Carl, Lindsay and Kyle were posting photos of each other, including Gemma. It warmed my heart and I really hope that Carl and Lindsay can get back some semblance of a friendship because they were so great when they weren’t romantically involved.
RECOMMENDING
I recently got the MERIT Beauty Clean Lash mascara (they sent it to me, thank you Merit!) and I’ve been obsessed. It’s the perfect everyday mascara that adds length without being overly dramatic. It’s also a tubing mascara so it comes off with just water in the easiest way possible.
TREATING
I didn’t buy myself anything this week — aside from a few Starbucks coffes which were as always, delicious.
