lots of pop culture going on in my head
I have to say, I’m quite pleased that Memorial Day Weekend was a washout. I needed an excuse to move quietly; and if moving quietly means not being home all weekend then so be it.
I got brunch with a friend, dinner with my family and then spent Sunday at the mall with my mom. It was pretty great.
And now, the unofficial start of summer has begun and my sister’s wedding is less than three weeks away and it’s all feeling too real.
READING
I finished Sunrise on the Reaping and found out that my attention span when it comes to books is just fine, I just need to read more exciting books. I read The Hunger Games when they were first released and while it was never my fandom of choice, I still casually enjoyed all the media.
I preferred Sunrise on the Reaping over Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes; maybe because there were more ties to Katniss, etc. I loved the epilogue, I loved being inside Haymitch’s head and I can’t wait for the movie.
EATING
I went to brunch and didn’t take a photo of my meal. That is a millennial first, for sure. It was so simple — eggs and pancakes but it healed something in me.
PLAYING
I simply cannot stop listening to The Bitch is Back by Elton John, thanks to Off Campus.
I also cannot stop watching this video of Belmont and Ella lipsyncing to it. They are just too beautiful.
OBSESSING
If I’m being honest, my brain has been filled with so much pop culture lately. I’m still stuck in a Heated Rivalry loop, now I’ve added the Off Campus to the mix, Harry Styles is back on tour, the Summer House drama is still going, and of course… Mother showed up at the Knicks game last night and my brain exploded.
RECOMMENDING
I have been loving lip liner lately. It’s very rare that my lip combo does not include a lip liner + lip gloss combo. Right now, the Westman Atelier Lip Shape in Cou Cou has my heart. It looks so good with the rhode Pretzel Lip Peptide Treatment.
TREATING
I picked up two things at Sephora during my mall trip, and then immediately came home to order some clothes that I couldn’t find in person. Everything is linked here!
