Weekly REPORT #84
My mood is low.
It was a struggle to get through the short week and now we are in crunchtime for my sister’s wedding. It’s here, less than two weeks away, and I’m nervous.
I couldn’t tell you why I’m nervous — I’m not the one getting married, but it’s just nerve wracking!
Good thing I have Summer House reunions part 2 and 3, alongside the premiere of Love Island USA to keep me good and distracted.
Pop culture has always been the best medicine for me getting outside of my head.
Let’s jump into the week…
READING
I’m only 35% of the way through The Ghostwriter by Julie Clark and I would really like to pick up the speed but as stated above, I’ve been in a horrible mood all week and surprisingly have been sleeping very well, so I’m passing out long before I could finish more than a chapter of a book.
EATING
I might start skipping this section entirely; food has disgusted me for the past two weeks and everything I eat, I’m eating for survival and not enjoyment. It’s a terrible feeling.
PLAYING
As of Saturday night, I’ve watched part 1 of the Summer House reunion three times. That uncensored version just hits so good. Hearing Ciara say “Shut the fuck up, Amanda” was pure poetry.
OBSESSING
There’s nothing that has really captured my attention outside of pop culture — I’m definitely in a bit of a spiral when it comes to that. However, in all the wrong ways, I was obsessing about clothing this week.
I’m just at a loss for what to wear during the spring & summer. I wore a sweater set to work this week and I nearly crawled out of my skin with how uncomfortable it was. I’ve never had the greatest sense of style, always opting for simple, classic and comfortable clothes and lately, I’m just kind of bored of it.
I’m tired of everything in the stores, I’m tired of the trends. I just don’t know what to wear. So, I went on a bit of a tear and ordered a few things from Abercrombie & J.Crew — linked here.
RECOMMENDING
As someone who is a ‘former’ content creator and obsessed with beauty, it’s been rare that I stay loyal to one brand or one product. However, when I do find something I like, I try not to disrupt the equilibrium.
The Merit 1980 Tinted Brow Pomade Gel is an unreal product. It gives your brows the perfect amount of tint — like a barely there wisp, while holding them in place and presenting an almost feathery look.
Over the years I’ve tried other brow gels but always go back to this one. I just bought. a new one last week and everything feels right in my universe.
TREATING
Aside from the clothes I bought this week, I treated myself to some Slip products. I really need to focus on my sleep and figured maybe silk pillowcases would help? They were on sale and I wanted a new eye mask anyway so I bought them.
Slip also recently released a ‘leisure’ collection and they had the most adorable ‘Late Checkout’ eye mask, but I missed the original drop. It’s been sold out forever and it finally came back in stock so I had to pick it up.
I might’ve also purchased a Tiffany bracelet (from Fashionphile) that I’ve been eyeing for years. It’s so expensive on the Tiffany website and when I saw it for a good price on Fashionphile, I had to treat myself.
