This week feels like it went by very slowly, and the energy was very off kilter. Something was in the air and life almost felt like a stimulation. I would normally chalk that up to my bipolar disorder but my co-workers and other people on social media were saying the same thing.
Then I realized Mercury was in retrograde and everything made sense.
I can really sum up the week in one instance: I ordered a sandwich from a deli on Friday, picked it up and when I got home realized they had given me the wrong sandwich. That was my final straw so I cried and then took a nap.
Here’s to hoping this week is better!
READING
I started Lies Between Us by Jessica Goodman, who is one of my favorite YA authors (and yes, I am 33 still reading YA) and I’m really enjoying it! It’s feels like a classic thriller and follows a similar format as Goodman’s other novels — teenagers in a rich, Long Island town end up in the middle of a murder investigation.
I’m also more than halfway through The Page Turner and I am obsessed. This is the kind of book that sticks with you years after you’ve read it and I’m so angry that it’s taken me so long to read it.
EATING
I didn’t take any photos but I bought Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip Brownie cookie dough and life will never be the same. I made myself three cookies every night this week and I thought I saw God. These were so gooey and chocolately, but not too sweet and truly tasted like the perfect mix of a brownie and chocolate chip cookie. I don’t think I could ever buy another package because I will eat it in a day.
PLAYING
Due to the wedding of the century last week, I was in a very Taylor Swift mood this week (as opposed to the other weeks when I’m not, I guess) and decided to listen to Speak Now all the way through. I’ve been trying to not listen to The Tortured Poet’s Department every single day and give the rest of Taylor’s discography more love, so I will choose a different album every week and listen to it straight through.
This week it was Speak Now, and when I decided that, I didn’t realize it was the week of July 9th AND the anniversary of the release of Speak Now TV. I’ll call that another case of TayVooDoo.
Speak Now has never been at the top of my list but this week, something changed. The album is unreal and I’m constantly reminded that she wrote this album completely by herself at 19 years old. It is truly so wonderful and I will be giving it more love.
OBSESSING
I saw a TikTok video recently that showed how to use the Louis Vuitton pocket agenda — a size I had not really paid attention to in the past. It’s not the PM agenda with the snap, it’s longer and is a true notebook cover that you can slip a notebook or planner into. I have an agenda obsession and have had every form of Louis Vuitton agendas over the years.
After seeing it, I became obsessed with the idea of having this tiny planner in my purse and decided I must have it. Good thing I’m savvy with eBay and Japanese luxury resellers because I found one in pretty good condition and paid $4.50 (plus $50 in shipping and fees).
Now, I just need to find the right inserts for it.
RECOMMENDING
I am very late to the game but I have a new found love for the Anthropologie icon iced coffee glasses. My friend gifted me one recently (that has little croissants on it — I have a croissant obsession) and have been using it to make iced coffee every morning.
I’m not someone who drinks iced coffee all year round, and will usually never touch it in the mornings but this glass alongside my new Nespresso has changed all that. Now, I’m drinking iced coffee more than ever before and it’s delicious.
There is just something about this glass that makes iced coffee taste better.
TREATING
The LoveShackFancy x Casemate collaboration got me good. I bought three items, all magsafe approved. I’ve never been a magsafe kind of gal so I didn’t realize that you needed a specific case with the circle on the back to have all your accessories fit securely.
So, I bought a case from Amazon and have been using the ring stand all weekend, and I’m obsessed. It’s better and cuter than a popsocket which I never liked, so I’m glad to have something a little more chic on the back of my phone.
