I skipped last week’s report because I was simply too tired. I felt a little sick all weekend, took naps that collectively added up to 7 hours over two days, and ultimately was just exhausted.
August has arrived, salt is in the air and our doors are rusted as we wind down summer. It feels like summer just started; maybe it’s because June was a busy wedding month and July felt hot and tiring, so knowing August is here and fall is just around the corner makes me a little sad. The past few years I’ve enjoyed summer, I like the heat, being outside in the sun and being able to swim. I like air conditioning and being tan, and natural, curly hair.
In the past, by August, I am craving a Pumpkin Spice Latte but this year, I’m happy with sipping my Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso for at least another month and a half.
August also kind of makes me sad because it means the year is almost over. We have just four months left; another birthday, another holiday season, and it feels like I’ve accomplished nothing I’ve set my mind too. It’s a reminder of all the potential I’ve laid out and walked away from.
I’m going to try to act a little more optimistic and put my head down to accomplish the things I wanted too, so we’ll see.
READING
I finished two books over the past week and a half, both which will be included in my July Reading Recap. Where She Rests is #12 in the Detective Nikki Hunt series, written by Stacy Green. It’s my favorite thriller series and I can fly through one of them in two days.
Then, I finished How to Find Love in The Cereal Aisle by Alissa DeRogatis. It was such a unique, fun and thoughtful romance with a slice of life lesson woven throughout the pages. At first, I really didn’t know what trope I was in for but once it was clear, I was thrilled to continue reading. It was so good!
EATING
I went to my cousin’s baby shower today and ate the most delicious breakfast charcuterie board, alongside churro flavored coffee. It was perfect.
PLAYING
I finished watching House of Stassi in 24 hours and was pleasantly surprised by how it made me feel. It was a great show, but I’m unsure whose side I am on. I also rewatching Wuthering Heights and blubbered like an idiot…again.
OBSESSING
Ever since leaving school (12 years ago), it’s been hard for me to stick to a routine. I am too tired after work to do anything, and then on the weekends I feel like I have to cram a lot of activities within a 48 hour window. My weeknights are a complete wash of coming home, eating dinner, showering, dissociating on my couch and then getting ready to do it the next day.
However, over the past week or so, I’ve made a sudden shift that has been working out well; an after work exercise, writing and relaxing routine. I’ve been planning out my days, hour by hour, at the beginning of the week and trying to remain on the best schedule I could and it’s been great. I’ve also made it a point to do an errand or two after work so I don’t feel like my weekends are spent running around the neighborhood going in and out of stores.
It’s become a little game for me and I love it.
*I’ve been using these SessaVee weekly/hourly inserts along with a Cloth & Paper daily agenda that I keep in my new Louis Vuitton Pocket Agenda.
RECOMMENDING
At Estée Lauder this week, we launched our new fragrance called Glimmer. The campaign is fantastic (go like it on Instagram & TikTok) and the fragrance smells even better. The main notes are Macaron Rose Accord, Amber Embrace Accord, and Shimmering Patchouli. The only word I can describe it as is sparkling (it’s very aptly named) and it’s the kind of perfume that smells better the longer you wear it. It starts off sweet but dries down in a warm, amber scent. I am truly addicted!
It’ll be released on EsteeLauder.com on August 6th and other retailers, like Ulta on August 16th.
TREATING
I bought myself a few things this weekend, some were needed & some were not; some cute things from Anthropologie, a pair of Ted Baker pants from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, a Taylor Swift notepad (that I repurchase every few months — I’m obsessed) and a bathing suit from J.Crew. Everything is linked here!

The baby shower spread looks delicious! Also churro coffee! I’m not even a coffee drinker, but that sounds good. Looking forward to your Stassi article ❤️
